My previous tutoring experience has showed that a session is most productive when both sides have done some prep work for it in advance. I start by finding problematic areas in a student's knowledge on the topic then we come up with a plan for working with them with each other. Depending upon the student's needs, I locate resources, teach some of the topic as well as undergo problems with them, and also establish problems for separate working. At the beginning of each lesson I establish some depictive problems, generally taken from previous papers, from the topic we have worked on the earlier lesson to measure the student's development. However, I'm adaptable and normally welcome recommendations to optimise the way sessions are given so responses accepted always!
